 Rice Terrace Villas is made up of a single compound of 2 private and independent villas that share a centralised swimming pool with sweeping views of adjacent terraced rice fields both featuring modern and well-appointed Balinese style structures with traditional alang-alang thatched ceilings, ivory-coloured paras-stone walls and highly-polished dark-teakwood and white-stone floors. A fusion of natural bamboos and antique furnishings are mixed together with abundant cushioned seating areas as well as pockets of pebbled stone gardens and private lawn areas, which surround each structure.
Villa One
This villa features 3 air-conditioned double bedrooms with private en suite bathrooms and 2 separate and private garden bungalows with a shared bathroom. The main villa in made of a luxurious split-levelled and open-planned structure. Entry is via a series of garden stepping stones that lead across a vast manicured lawn with soaring Raja palms at its centre. The first of 2 separate entertainment areas, one that overlooks the villa features a satellite television and DVD player with a library of movies, books and games - while another more formal living area is integrated into main living structure. A smart al fresco dining setting seating 10 in comfort - is located on a detached stone patio - down a set of teakwood steps, which lead from the main living area to a private garden while tantalising 'East meets West' cuisines are prepared in an adjacent fully equipped European style kitchen.
The master bedroom is located on an upper level. It features a canopied 4-poster bed, which overlooks a private open-air balcony and a fully featured en suite bathroom. 2 other bedrooms, both with equal facilities are located on the lower level, with private garden settings and fully featured en suite bathrooms.
Villa Two
This private villa features similar amenities as Villa One - with 2 air-conditioned double bedrooms with private en suite bathrooms - and is made up of a more intricately spilt-levelled living space. The master bedroom has its own private open-air balcony overlooking the peaceful rice fields and swimming pool. The second air-conditioned bedroom is accessed via the main living area and features a private garden. A separate al fresco style dining area seating 10 in comfort is located on a lower garden with access to a fully equipped European style kitchen.
Other features include large manicured grounds with soaring tropical palms and clusters of blossoming mango trees. A beautiful tranquil lotus pond - that features its own private Hindu temple rests at the lower edge of the grounds, blending harmony with the luxuriant surroundings and view. The layout of the gardens also offers each villa maximum privacy within a shared compound. With its tasteful collection of ancient Indonesian artefacts, tribal stone sculptures and beautiful woven textiles - that are successfully fused into the airy open-planned structures - Rice Terrace Villas offers a contemporary vision of space amidst a classic Balinese village setting.
It should also be noted that occupying the entire complex brings together a unique travelling experience, which is similar to that of a tropical 5-star resort.
