3 BEDROOMS VILLA
 Inti
 Canggu
Villa ombak Luwung

Only a twenty minute drive from the high-class area of Seminyak, filled with five-star international restaurants, fine boutiques, and exhilarating night-life, Villa Inti is close to the action, but still far enough away to offer complete repose in the charm of rural Bali. Throughout the villa you will notice the fantastic amount of natural light that enters due to the open-air floor-plan of the main living space and dining room, which overlook the stunning pool and abundant views. In the partially enclosed bedrooms and entertainment room are numerous windows with wood shutters that can be opened to allow in the breeze and sun, or closed when darkness or air-conditioning are desired. These spaces can all be further opened up to the outside by way of a second set of doors that have been specially made to open from either one-meter above the floor, or from floor to ceiling. All of the doors in the villa are lime-washed providing for a rustic feel. The furniture is a mix of contemporary and antique, all with the distinct flavours of the archipelago of Indonesia. Signifying careful attention to details, a plethora of works of art, including sculptures, vases, paintings, and sketches enrich Villa Inti.

A stone-slab walkway beyond the abundant parking area leads over the fish-filled water gardens, abloom with lotus and lilies into the villa. You enter the open-air main living room, contained in a sunken sitting area, from which a few steps lead up to the dining area, kitchen, and master bedroom to the right, and the entertainment room, second, and third bedrooms to the left. This communal living area is floored in cooling orange-brown terracotta tiles and the high alang-alang roof enhances the spaciousness of the rooms. An antique teakwood relaxation couch laid with colourful pillows sits behind a massive coffee table, forming the centrepiece of the room that overlooks the pool and the rice-fields. Several reclining armchairs are set in the space for additional sitting locals, and a round table is placed to one side, surrounded by chairs for optional intimate dining. A second round table can be placed by the edge of the pool for the same purpose. A plethora of large plush pillows are provided to maximize comfort.

To the left of the main living area, ascend to the open walkway leading to the entertainment room and to two of the bedrooms. Exquisite drawings and photographs of Balinese dancers and villagers, done by a famous American artist who resided in Bali for many years, adorn the walls, enhancing the cultural awareness of the villa. The entertainment room features a large-screen satellite TV with DVD/VCD/CD player set in a large wooden cabinet and spacious couch. Speakers in the communal living area are connected to the stereo in this room for when music is desired throughout the villa. The outward-facing doorway can be opened up to overlook the gardens and bring in the sunlight and breeze. Three dyaak, traditional hats for working in the rice fields, hang on the walls.

Pass by a slender Timorese statue on the walkway that leads towards one of villa’s many colourful contemporary Indonesian paintings by Loka Dama, and reach two of the bedrooms. Both bedrooms have air conditioning and fans, and have outward-facing doorways like the one in the entertainment room. In one of the bedrooms, the doorway opens up to overlook the gardens. This bedroom features two beds, which can be pushed together to form a king-sized bed. The crisp white cotton linens on all the beds are from India, and all beds have canopy mosquito nets. The second bedroom doorway opens up to a wood balcony, and faces the peaceful rice paddies. Both bedrooms feature ensuite bathrooms that are partially open-air and feature standing showers and bougainvillea filled rock gardens. Each W.C. is hidden behind a polished concrete partition.

Walking across the main living area from the right wing of the house, you pass by a meditating Chinese statue playfully decorated with flowers and incense, and step up to the open-air dining pavilion. The elegant hard-wood table comfortably seats eight, and overlooks the grounds, while the decorative lighting fixture that hangs above casts mysteriously enchanting shadows at night. An elegant Oriental cabinet sits to the side, and a large framed mirror expands the space. Have the cooks prepare one of their delicious dishes from around the world in the fully-equipped modern kitchen and indulge in some homemade ice cream for dessert. The kitchen is also stocked with high-class crockery and acrylic glasses perfect for late afternoon cocktails while relaxing on the daybed beside the pool.

Shallow steps running the length of the floor lead you down from the living pavilion to the pool deck. The 12.5×4 meter pool is done in green stone and palimanan, and has a platform forming the shallow end, great for children, and a deeper end, with a step and seat. Lie back on one of the lounge chairs and soak in the sun. Villa Inti has its own portable massage table, which you can take advantage by the pool as the soothing sounds of the fountain help your mind drift away and your body unwind.
