Historically Balinese art is all ready appear long time ago in Balinese ancients and at 13 century since the invasion from the Majapahit kingdom to Bali which led by Gajah Mada so since that time Bali under Majapahit kingdom Govern. So since those time Balinese art having a great influence from the Majapahit artist and since those times Ubud and its neighboring villages have been the center of Balinese art. Ubud and Batuan are known for their paintings, Mas for their woodcarvings.

There are many traditional arts in Bali, from woodcarving, dance, drama, painting, and many others. One of them is painting where Bali knows for its own characteristic traditional painting from the structure and style is different with other painting. This make the painting collector from all over globe the word came to Bali to hunting the Balinese traditional painting.

Balinese people are very creative person in every thing in their daily life activities. Dances are one of them where in Bali there are lots of dances which we can find. Basically dance is created by people who inspirited to the nature and legend of god where their implemented in the form of dance, but some of the sacral dance is created automatically came when they doing the tradition ceremonial like upakara and spontaneity having a trances and dance followed the Gambelan instrumental. Balinese dances can divide in two kind the first one is the dance which including to the sacral dance where this dances are only performance and has religious connection to traditional ceremonial day like in a temple, and the second one is the Wali Dances where this dance is including to the entertainment performance dance which the function to entertainment.

Tilem the ceremonial of dark moon.

On 27 November, 2008 the Balinese people will doing the religious ceremonial On the Tilem day. The tilem means that the day when dark of the moon, the tilem day is appear fifteen day after the Purnama day or the full moon, Balinese people believe that this day is very sacred and religious day and most of the religious ceremonial are presented at this day some in big temple in Bali.

In tilem day the moon are off so there are darkness around the land no light, the night so dark. Balinese people believe that this day is very sacral day where the Batara Kala returns to the earth to and try to disturb human life. So Balinese people doing some upakar give the Batara Kala some food in form of Segan so the Betara Kala would not disturb human life.

On 13, December 2008. Balinese people will celebrated The Tumpek Wayang traditional ceremonial. On this day the ceremony was held which is connection with the arts, especially the puppet, offering forward to Bhatara Iswara apply to the arts is sustainable, fun, and be lucky. And for children who was born in this wuku tumpek wayang he must obtain a special ceremony and receive holy water from a puppet which is popular with the ceremony Sapuh Leger.

The Tumpek Wayang day which also known as Tumpek Ringgit where this day are commonly came one time in every six moon and according to the Balinese calendar which base on the wuku like sinta, landep, ukir, kulantir and other until watugunung. This ceremonial are presented at wuku tumpek wayang precisely at Saniscara Kliwon Tumpek Wayang.
