Luna2 private hotel, named after the first spacecraft to land on the moon in the late 50’s, is located beachfront in fashionable
Seminyak, and is just a short stroll along the beach to neighbouring restaurants and bars.

The architecture
The ultra-modern design is reminiscent of great modernism of the past century, with a clear vision of the future. Architect David Wahl, based in Washington, collaborated with Melanie Hall, owner of Luna2, to create this groundbreaking design which is a vastly different approach to the ubiquitous ‘modern .Bali’ style. It’s somewhat ‘south beach’ simplicity is intended as a backdrop for Hall’s signature interiors.

The interiors
The interiors are a ‘groovy-baby’ blend of nostalgic modernism, with innovation of the 21st century – a style with Hall loosely refers to as ‘funked-up modernism’. All interiors, designed and produced by Melanie Hall, are colour-themed, with a spectrum of materials, textures and prints including walnut veneers, solid acrylics and vintage European wallpapers to name but a few.

Bisazza mosaics feature throughout – with a custom-designed image of the iconic Marilyn Monroe ‘lying’ at the base of the 20m pool. Design classics and accessories from around the world add interest and timelessness to Hall’s own designs.

The team
At the helm is General Manager and Executive Chef, Danny Drinkwater. He is supported by a complement of 24 staff, including awarded Chef de Cuisine Brenden Peace from Sydney, Australia; also by a breakfast chef, pastry chef, waitstaff, barmen, butler, housekeeping staff, masseuse, gardeners, drivers, administrative staff and a team of security guards.

Lunafood & bar
Luna2 private hotel’s lunafood & beverage selection is innovative, yet somewhat nostalgic, and quite simply out-of-this-world, to satisfy the most discerning gastronaut.

At the helm is renowned British Executive Chef Danny Drinkwater. He is supported by Chef de Cuisine, Brenden Peace from Australia and an extraordinary culinary team.Gastronomic menus are offered for breakfast, all-day dining and evening meals, which are customised to suit the guests’ preferences. Lunafood is complimented by an enviable wine & champagne cellar and a cigar humidor.

Children too can enjoy customised menus to broaden their culinary horizons, not to mention the complimentary kids cookery classes.

Events & parties
Luna2 private hotel is renowned for handling private events with a complimentary in-house event planning service, enabling guests to custom-design their occasion: from intimate dinners to the most opulent celebrations. The state-of-the-art commercial kitchen and specialist F&B team allows a plethora of options, from 10 to 100 people; whether it’s an intimate dinner at the Chef’s table, a decadent dinner party poolside, or a cosmic cocktail reception in the garden – no request is too tall or too small!

In-house spa and salon treatments are provided upon request,as well as a comprehensive range of health and fitness sessions.

Sight-seeing, shopping sprees, trips to cultural points of interest, the zoos & animal parks, golf, surfing, scuba-diving, boat trips and picnics can easily be arranged.

Additionally, Luna2 provides free temporary membership to Bali’s exclusive recreational Canggu Club, with restaurant, bar, tennis, Olympic-size pool, kids’ pool and playing fields.

2 Complimentary drivers with lunamobiles, and a vintage Vespa, are available at all times for the guests’ personal use.
Baby-sitting services are provided upon request.

Mod-cons
The Bose sound system projects the latest tracks from the bar to the beach; iPods and flat-screen TV’s are provided in each bedroom; there is a mac computer and iPad, state-of-the-art lighting system, wireless internet throughout, as well as central AC – indeed a rarity in Bali; DVD library, Playstation and X-Box computer games.

Security
Swipe card access is provided for guest convenience.24-hour security by a team of professional guards, positioned at front and back accesses.3m walls on both north and south perimeters to allow optimum privacy.

Children’s activities
Entertainment for the kids includes: cookery classes; supervised boogie-boarding, surfing lessons and pool games; horse-riding at nearby stables or on the beach; soccer, badminton and more

The TV/ playroom is well-equipped with toys and games for all ages, and of course includes X-Box and Playstation, and a library of DVD’s.

Each evening the Luna2 chefs will prepare a menu to suit guests’ mood, from a six-course dégustation dinner to a
relaxed TV dinner, and with a spectrum of choices available. Discerning gastronauts can sample Lunafood favourites,
such as gnocchi with French goats cheese, confit cherry tomato & organic basil, truffle & porcini-stuffed boneless
spatchcocks with fondant potatoes, not to mention the raspberry & kirsch soufflés and rich mocha chocolate tart with
vanilla cream. Special requests such as seafood garden barbecues, cocktail soirées, or dinner parties can all be arranged.

Lunabar – 24hrs if required
Bar tenders are on hand from noon ‘til as-late-as-you-dare, to stir & shake your favourite tipple. Choose from the spectrum of cocktails, both signature & classic; treat yourself to wines from the enviable cellar which ranges from a quaffing New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, right through to the pièce de resistance, Chateau Petrus. Top it off with a Cohiba Siglo IV from the amply-stocked humidor.
